Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

Stored only on your device (localStorage)

• Your profile (name, role, primary challenge, birth year, faith preference)
• Journal entries and practice reflections
• HRV readings and protocol completion history
• Milestone progress, streaks, and tool usage counts
• App settings and preferences
• Profile photo (stored as compressed image data on your device)
• PERMA, PSS-10, GAD-7, PHQ-9, and maintenance survey results

None of this data is transmitted to PRE►LOΔD servers unless you explicitly use the Google Drive sync or research study features.

Google Account (optional, if you connect)

If you choose to connect Google, we request access to:

• Google Drive — appDataFolder: A private, hidden folder in your Drive that only this app can read. No other app or person can see it. We store your progress backup as a plain JSON file here.
• Google Drive — drive.file: Permission to create and write to a single Google Doc ("PRE►LOΔD Journal") in your Drive that you explicitly request. You own this document and can delete it at any time.
• Google account email and name: Used to display your account info in the app. Not stored on our servers.

Your Google OAuth access token is stored in your browser’s localStorage and sessionStorage. It is never transmitted to PRE►LOΔD servers.

AI Guide usage (optional)

When you use the AI Guide, your conversation and a summary of your progress context (day number, primary challenge, tool usage counts) are sent to Google Gemini via the Gemini API. This is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy. Your journal entry text is never included in AI requests.

If you use the shared free proxy (preload-proxy.preloadbook.workers.dev), requests pass through our Cloudflare Worker. No conversation content is logged or stored by us.

Research study (opt-in only)

If you voluntarily enroll in the PRE►LOΔD effectiveness study, we collect:

• Your anonymous study ID (randomly generated, not tied to your name)
• Aggregate assessment scores (PERMA total, PSS-10 total, GAD-7 total, reactivity count)
• Protocol completion rate (percentage, not specific dates)
• Tool usage counts (which tools, how many times)

We never collect journal content, prayer intentions, specific reflection text, or any personally identifiable information through the research system.

Subscription and payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. PRE►LOΔD never sees or stores your payment card information. Stripe’s privacy policy applies to payment processing: stripe.com/privacy. We receive only a subscription status (active/inactive) linked to your anonymous client reference ID.

2. What We Do NOT Collect

• Journal entries, prayer text, or personal reflections (never sent anywhere by default)
• Location data
• Contact lists
• Biometric data beyond what you manually enter
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Browsing history
• Any data from other apps

3. Google Drive — How Your Data Is Protected

When Drive sync is enabled:

• Your backup is stored in the appDataFolder — a special Drive location invisible to you in the Drive UI and inaccessible to any other app or person
• Data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS 1.3)
• Access requires your valid Google OAuth token, which expires and must be refreshed
• The journal Google Doc (if you sync it) is a standard Google Doc in your own Drive that you own and control entirely

You can disconnect Google Drive at any time in Profile → Sync. You can delete all Drive files associated with PRE►LOΔD using the "Delete all Drive files" button in the same section.

4. Your Rights and Controls

• Export: Download your full data as JSON or your journal as a text file at any time (Profile → Data & Backup)
• Delete local data: Profile → Data & Backup → Reset All Data
• Delete Drive data: Profile → Sync → Delete all Drive files
• Disconnect Google: Profile → Sync → Disconnect Google (revokes our access immediately)
• Opt out of research: Research participation is entirely voluntary; contact us to withdraw
• Cancel subscription: Profile → Account → Manage subscription (redirects to Stripe portal)

5. Data Retention

Local data persists until you clear your browser storage or use the Reset All Data function. Drive data persists until you delete it. Research data (anonymised aggregate scores only) may be retained for up to 5 years for longitudinal analysis.

6. Children and Minors

PRE►LOΔD includes adapted experiences for users under 18. For users under 13, we recommend that a parent or guardian review this privacy policy and supervise account setup. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. The app does not require an account, email address, or any identifying information to function.

7. Changes to This Policy

We will post updates to this page and note the effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
